5 on Friday

HAPPY FRI-YAY!

Oh my gosh, y’all. I’m exhausted. I’ve been trying not to whine about being tired, but let me just state again: I’m exhausted. Blogging has been way low on my priorities, which sucks because I love blogging.

That’s why I love posts like Five on Friday because I only have to be coherent for a few sentences at a time.

ONE // LAVENDER THINGS

I’m currently sipping on a Blackberry Lavender White Mocha from Lionheart, and I’m remembering that on my 101 in 1001 list is to bake something with lavender extract. How great do these recipes look??

Lavender cupcakes // Honey Lavender macarons // Salted honey lavender caramels // Lavender shortbread // Lavender & Honey Cookies // Lavender Fudge // Lavender Blueberry Muffins

Uh so none of those even use lavender extract. and given my newest love of blackberry/lavender… maybe I’ll be making up my own recipe. Stay tuned.

TWO // PINK KEYBOARD COVER

I’m pretty hard on my computer. It maybe drops a lot. I have a protective case on it that was cracked within the first week I had it. and my up key is not attached; I often say “BE CAREFUL OF MY UP KEY!” when people use my computer. Because I do NOT want to lose my upkey!

Now I have a keyboard cover on my computer which serves multiple purposes. First, it is pink so it’s really cute and it matches the case and I just love it. Two, it keeps my upkey safe. Third, it protects my computer from my spills (I spill coffee a lot) and crumbs and messes. It’s lightweight and while it took a little time to get used to the feeling of something on top of my keys, I am LOVING it. I just really love not having to worry about my upkey.

THREE // FRIENDS

Last week my Twitter feed blew up as my boyfriend and one of my closest friends decided to make breakfast plans for us. They’d never even met each other at that point, too. I just want to point that out. I love the internet. Anyway. this is what I saw when I finally looked at my phone:

So we had breakfast. and I just want to say.. there are few people in the world that I could see all the time and never get tired of them. Susannah is one of those people, and I’m so grateful for the internet for bringing us together. I wish we lived closer, insert wailing emoji right here.

FOUR // TINY FRIENDS

Over the past week or so, I’ve been playing phone tag with my tiny twin best friends. I try really hard to either answer right away or call back the very minute I can, but it’s just never worked. I bought a car mount for my phone so that if I was driving and they called, I could talk to them without having to hold my phone… and it finally worked! They called me while I was driving back from Seattle last weekend, and we spent about 45 minutes FaceTiming. I am so honored to be a part of their lives; they bring so much joy and love into my life.

FIVE // PINTERESTING

Last week we were upcycling clothing for youth group. I helped one girl make a dress out of a maxi skirt (it was so cute! I’m going to do that for the summer!), and there was a lot of headband/bracelet making going on.. and I discovered this pin, where you could no-sew DIY a t-shirt rug. YES PLEASE. So I started making one… for our church nursery. It’s actually REALLY COOL, and when I finish this one I’ll be making one for EVERYBODY I KNOW. It’s much bigger than this already — it’s kind of sloppy, but whatever…. kids will probably take massive dumps in their pants while sitting on this so I’m not worried about impressing the crowd.

But you guys I AM MAKING A RUG! HOW COOL IS THAT!
JUST CALL ME MARTHA STEWART!

Alright well my mocha is gone and I have to pee so badly. Be safe, make good decisions.

I received a product mentioned in this post for free one change for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own.
