{pura vida bracelets + a giveaway} 1/31 days of movers, shakers & music makers

I used to never wear bracelets, and then I stumbled upon Pura Vida. The first thing that caught my eye was that they were waterproof. That means my lazy self wouldn’t have to take them off in the shower! So I ordered a few. and then a few more. and then a few more. and then they had a sale, and then eventually….

I forgot what my left wrist looked like!

This is their story.

After graduating from college these guys named Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman went to Costa Rica. There they met Joaquin and Jorge, who were selling these very simple, colorful bracelets. Griffin and Paul asked them to make 400 bracelets for them to take back to the US, where they sold them at a local boutique. And the rest, as they say, is history.

When they first met Joaquin and Jorge, they were living with their family in a single room with three beds. Now they have a house and work with 30 of their friends.

That is the most exciting part to me. I love each bracelet I wear was made by Joaquin, Jorge or their friends. Even though I’ve never met them… or Griffin or Paul, I feel  like I am a part of a big family of people who believe that colorful bracelets can change things.

So I wanted to invite some of you into the Pura Vida Bracelet Family. I picked out three charity bracelets that support things I am so passionate about (kids, what else?) and am putting them in a giveaway for you to win. Good luck, God speed & Pura vida 🙂
