Last year I realized that coffee scrubs are two things:
- 1. cool
and
- 2. expensive
So I decided… hey, I’m just going to make my own freaking coffee scrub AND I’m going to give it away to my friends. But let me be honest… I didn’t give many of them away because I loved them so much myself. It’s really simple to make, and who doesn’t want to be like “I love coffee so much that I BATHE IN IT?”
Also. You know how that St. Ives Apricot Scrub is like a STAPLE for your bathroom to get your face scrub on? This coffee scrub is even scrubbier, just saying.
Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup of coffee grounds (I just collect the ones I’ve already used for coffee)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of melted coconut oil
OPTIONAL: Essential oils
Ready for this? It’s seriously SO SIMPLE.
Melt the coconut oil. Mix the coffee grounds + sugar. Add 10-15 drops of essential oils (my favorite combo so far is orange + lemongrass). Store in a jar (I found mine in the dollar section at Target, and at Christmas they were half off – they were 3 for $1.50! but here are some great ones, too). I keep mine in the shower and extras are stored in the fridge (weird, I know but I don’t want the coconut oil to get all melty!).
THERE YOU HAVE IT! It’s super simple and seriously SO GOOD.
