5 ways to sneak fun into your morning

I am not a morning person.
I really wish I was, because I love being awake.
The problem is I also really love being asleep.
So the transition between being asleep and being awake is freaking TOUGH.

As soon as I kind of melt away all of the sleepy, I’m so down with being awake. That transition time, though.

I can use every single help the world will give me to enjoy the waking up process more fun, and I don’t doubt there are some of you who could use that help as well. I might not be a pro at waking up, but I think I’m at least amateur status at having fun.

ONE // #iwokeuplikethis

How many of us, much to our dismay, grab our phones within the first few minutes of being awake? I wish I could pretend like I’m so much less dependent on social media than I am, but come on… a LOT can happen on Twitter in 8 hours. So why not jump right into the active world of social media with some really great Snapchat selfies like this…

TWO // ALL THE COFFEE IN SILLY MUGS

If you follow me on Instagram, you’re more than aware of the fact that I recently got a new coffee mug that is SO RIDICULOUS but SO PERFECT. Drinking endless cups of coffee out of a silly mug cracks me up (and makes me excited to get out of bed). Also before you even wonder, I’ll answer the question you have: Yes, I do bring a cup of coffee and emergency refills into my bathroom. Some days are extra tough, amiright?

THREE // USE FUN PRODUCTS

My dad always taught me that the washing your face part of the morning was one of the most crucial steps in waking up, as if cleaning your face somehow scrubbed the sleep off of it and transformed you from a dragon back into the beautiful princess you really are. Doing this day in and day out can become so routine that it loses it’s fun.

That’s where Bioré saves the day. The new Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub brings fizzy fun (say that 10 times fast!) into your morning routine. A baking soda cleanser might sound weird, but baking soda is known for being a cleanser and an exfoliant. It makes sense.

The Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub kind of magic. It starts as a powder, and then you add water (as much as you desire, depending on how much scrub you want) and it fizzes and transforms into a scrub that helps exfoliate your skin and clean deep down into your pores, all without over-scrubbing your face. It’s perfect for combination skin like I have (if you have oily skin, you should check out Bioré’s line of charcoal products).

It’s way fun.

I picked up the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and the Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser at Target recently, tucked away on a back endcap.

FOUR // FUN PAJAMAS

Do a little preventative maintenance and throw on some fun pajamas to sleep in. When you wake up and see your reflection, you’ll get a little chuckle out of whatever you read on your shirt. It will make up for the rest of what you see in the reflection first thing in the morning 😉

FIVE // DANCE PARTY PLAYLIST

Okay and all of the above will be taken to a whole new level by having a special playlist reserved for early morning, maybe-I-should-have-another-cup-of-coffee dance parties. I’ll hook you up with some of my favorite jams for times such as those.

  1. Perfect World – Allen Stone
  2. Fast Forward – Ernie Halter
  3. Banga! Banga! – Austin Mahone (don’t even ask, okay?)
  4. Sorry – Justin Bieber
  5. Follow You – Ben Rector
  6. Run The World (Girls) – Beyonce
  7. Shake it Off – Taylor Swift (duh!)
  8. The Way I Feel – Matt Wertz
  9. Come Around – Marc Broussard
  10. Say So – Allen Stone

Also as an honorable mention… make your bathroom (or wherever you spend the most time in the mornings) REALLY FUN – bright colors, happy pictures… seriously… ALL THE HELP YOU CAN GET.

Do you have any ways you sneak fun into your mornings?
